Last Friday we received our first LNG truck. With the gas-powered IVECO Stralis NP truck and the open trailer from Rolfo, we are expanding our very modern fleet with an innovative, environmentally friendly and powerful vehicle.
After an interesting presentation on the operation of the gas drive system at the IVECO Innovation Center in Ulm and a subsequent briefing on the vehicle, our driver was able to make his maiden trip to the nearby LNG filling station. There, he was equipped with the protective clothing prescribed for refuelling and carried out the refuelling process in a highly concentrated manner under the guidance of an expert.
Equipped with a large-capacity driver’s cab, an automated 12-speed transmission, a 400 hp Cursor 9 engine, the same payload as a comparable diesel vehicle and a range of approx. 1,500 km due to two tanks of 190 kg each, the LNG (liquefied natural gas) truck is ideal for long-distance traffic. It will initially be used as part of an ARS pilot project in southern Germany. We are looking forward to actively reducing emissions and making transport more environmentally friendly with this vehicle.
