After the relocation of the AFT fleet base from Nuremberg to Roth in May, the official opening ceremony could finally be celebrated. On September 17, numerous invited guests – neighbours, long-standing business partners, but also colleagues and friends – therefore gathered to inaugurate the new site with a Corona-compliant ceremony. After words of welcome from AFT’s managing director Alexander Henne, Roth’s mayor Ralph Edelhäußer took over the microphone. He then officially welcomed the company to the city once again by handing over a welcome gift. The event was accompanied musically by the Roth town band. The following day, the employees celebrated the move to the Franconian metropolis at a family party.

The company premises in Roth cover a total area of 10,000 m² and serve both as a truck parking area and as a changeover base for the early and late shifts in local transport. The truck fleet is controlled on site, which transports vehicles from the Bavarian OEMs to the Rhine-Main region in shifts and returns loaded with vehicles from the OEMs located there on the same day. The barrier-free office building, an ecological all-wood building, sets new standards in terms of sustainability and contributes to our goal of climate-neutral operations: it is self-supporting in terms of energy thanks to a photovoltaic system (including electricity storage), infrared heating and optimal passive house insulation. In addition, two charging stations for electric vehicles are operated with the solar power generated in-house. Another plus point is the modern sanitary facilities, which are accessible at all times for drivers working in shifts. Thus, the new site in Roth is not only a benefit for the employees, but also a location advantage for efficient vehicle transport due to its good location. We wish the team as well as the drivers smooth operations and accident- and damage-free days.
