30,000 m² covered with solar modules: Next step in construction process in Lonato

A large parking lot with rows of cars parked under expansive solar panel canopies, providing shade and generating solar energy. More cars and buildings are visible in the background.

A vision becomes reality: Together with our partner, The Dillinger Group, a huge solar carport facility is being built on the premises of the ARS Service compound in Lonato del Garda (Italy). The first important construction phase has now been completed, with solar modules covering 30,000 square metres.

When finished, the solar carports will span 100,000 square metres, making it one of the largest installations of its kind in the world. At present, there is space for up to approximately 1,500 cars under the solar panels. Once all installations are operational, our Group expects an annual yield of more than 21 million kilowatt hours. By way of comparison, this would be enough to supply a small town with more than 5,000 four-person households with electricity for a year!

Producing green energy, saving CO2 and backing our charging infrastructure are three advantages of the new facility.  Another one? “Compared to hail nets, which we can only use until October because they cannot bear the weight of snow, solar carports protect the vehicles on the compound 12 months a year”, explains Massimo Ringoli, COO  of ARS Service.
