Premiere in Ravenna: Vessel with 1,400 vehicles unloaded

A group of people wearing safety vests stands in front of a large AICC Shipping vessel, with flags from China, Italy, and the EU visible above them on a cloudy day.

A new era began at our port terminal in Ravenna on Wednesday, 17 September at 13:06. For the first time, a ship carrying 1,400 new vehicles from our Chinese partner OMODA & JAECOO was unloaded on the Trattaroli peninsula, and at that very moment, the first brand-new car rolled onto the quay. The flags of the European Union, Italy and China flew in welcome, and banners additionally highlighted the new cooperation.

A delegation from China also travelled to Italy especially for the first unloading of this historic ship cargo for ARS Altmann AG. Our colleagues from ASIA S.r.l., a joint venture between ARS Altmann and Gruppo Sapir, demonstrated to the guests how efficient our new terminal in Italy is, covering for example a modern car wash and e-charging facilities.

The vehicles, OMODA as well as JAECOO, were unloaded and in the next step moved through the preparation process. So they were ready for delivery within just a few days — ensuring an excellent time to market for dealers and customers.

After customs clearance, every vehicle undergoes a precise technical check and preparation, followed by a wash in our state-of-the-art facility with a capacity of more than 40 vehicles per hour.

Once completed, the vehicles were staged in the loading lanes, ready for collection by our truck fleet.

The ASIA Terminal is more than a port facility: it is a new benchmark for efficiency, quality, and speed in automotive logistics.
