Presence and findability on the Internet are essential. Especially when it comes to a far-reaching initiative such as “Every meter counts – Freight Track Alliance” with the aim of promoting the future viability of rail freight transport. At www.jeder-meter-zaehlt-guetergleise.de the initiative, which is expected to take action as an alliance from mid-2025, now has its own website. Clearly structured and compact with all information on the project and current campaigns and news.
Rail freight transport plays an important role in reducing truck kilometers and thusCO2 emissions. Stabling and dispatching tracks, train formation facilities and other service facilities are crucial for this, although they have been greatly reduced over the past 25 years. However, decarbonization and climate protection cannot be achieved without sufficient “parking spaces on the rails”.
“The aim is to permanently draw attention to the nationwide infrastructure needs of industry and logistics for freight transport on the German rail network,” says Dr. Maximilian Altmann, CEO of ARS Altmann AG and initiator of “Every meter counts”. “We invite shippers from industry and trade, logistics companies and railroad companies to join this alliance as partners and support it.” With the new website, “Every meter counts” now has another important external touchpoint.
Partner and co-initiator is the Logistik Kompetenz Zentrum (LKZ) Prien.
