Put on their red safety vests and off they went: more than 20 potential trainees and their parents explored our 320,000 square meter company premises in Wolnzach. Natalie Artinger from the Wolnzach branch took over the tour and explained how ultra-modern automotive logistics works with up to 9,000 vehicles and 19 truck unloading stations. The walk across the square was one of the highlights of the premiere of the trainee event “Schüler:in meets Logistik”.
“People get married here every day,” said Artinger. “This is exactly what we are talking about when the chassis numbers are linked to the respective QR code.” The sound of cars that truck driver Artur Zaj steered with centimeter precision onto the three-meter-high ARS Altmann car transporter was part of the next live event. Automotive logistics you can touch: The students were allowed to be co-drivers while Martin Beck from the AFT H. Altmann Fahrzeugtransporte GmbH fleet described the requirements for drivers. The aim was to provide practical orientation for career choices, including a look at the apprenticeships that the company offers at its headquarters, including automotive mechatronics technician (m/f/d), commercial clerk, commercial clerk for forwarding and logistics services and IT specialist (m/f/d) for system integration.
HR officer Andrea Brummer presented the company with 27 locations in Europe and a good 1,000 employees. She vividly explained the Rail-Center-Road concept, which focuses on the best possible linking of rail transport, logistics centers and road transport.
IT system administrator Stefan Kempinger and clerk Julia Neustadt from ARS Altmann AG’s Youth Apprenticeship Representative Office are the contact persons for the future apprentices. In a relaxed atmosphere with pretzels and snacks, the students and our team, including all the trainers and current trainees, got to know each other at the evening, which was initiated by the HR team led by Regina Schneider and Andrea Brummer.
